IDA |
In The Name Of God
The God who created the land below and the sky above us.
The God who created people and created happiness for the
people.
Ladies and Gentlemen
Honorable guests, distinguished speakers, delegates, dear
colleagues, presidents of the FDI, Oman , Qatar, Bahrain,
Emirates, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, the European dental
association and the Arab dental federation.
As the scientific chair of the 50th annual congress of IDA, I
have the honor and privilege to welcome all of you on board.
IDA is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and for its age, it
is in pretty good shape. As the eldest nongovernmental medical
organization in Iran, it works as an inspiration for many
people. As with many other organization, IDA has had its
shares of ups & down. But, with the endless effort of its
devoted leaders & members, like the phoenix, it always raises
up from its own ashes, and each time it becomes stronger.
With half a century of experience and knowledge, and with
nationwide & international efforts, it has come together to
form this 50th congress.
A jury of 133 academics from all 22 dental schools of the
country have evaluated 2,628 abstracts and spent approximately
3,790 man hours of work to select 480 abstracts as the main
lectures. Also 125 posters were chosen.
Lunch lectures are paralleled with the lunch time, which is
designed as a separate issue for dental student’s research.
50 years of research ergonomics, stem cells research, laser,
dental implants, infection control, and dental technology are
among the different panels designed for this congress, running
simultaneously in 12 different halls with10 panels in 4 days.
I wish this to be a very fruitful congress, and at this time I
would like to take the opportunity to introduce to you a very
prestigious gentleman who has travelled a long way from Brazil
to inaugurate this congress, the president of the World Dental
Federation (FDI), President Roberto Vianna.
President Vianna took office in Singapore in 2009 as the
president of FDI with a great history in promoting oral health
through out the world.
I would now like to ask president Vianna to approach the
stage, and let’s give him a big hand of applause. |
